LE CERISIER

This Charentaise farmhouse has been modernised into family accommodation of the highest standard. But it also retains many features which remind guests of its origins, from the original Charentaise fireplace with its Jotul wood burner and windows of the kitchen, to the oak beams of the landing and bedrooms, and the old wooden shutters.

The kitchen door opens directly onto a large terraced area, equipped with barbeque, large table and benches (to sit 10), which enjoys the all day shade provided by the chestnut trees. This is a safe and private area for young children to play as you keep a watchful eye through the kitchen windows. This terrace leads onto the pool terrace and then down to the swimming pool.

The downstairs living space comprises a large, open plan kitchen and dining room, and entrance hall. The kitchen is fitted with oak units and all modern appliances from a large fridge freezer to washing machine, micro wave and dishwasher, and has, as its centre piece, a large, larch hand crafted kitchen table. The lounge area is at the back of the living area, with windows facing east onto the terrace and neighbouring farm. This area has a large television with DVD player, and a sound system for cassettes, CDs and MP3 link ups.

As you climb the wide staircase the first room you reach is a separate shower room. At the top of the stairs is a large landing area equipped with sofa (pull out bed) and television and DVD player for childrens’ entertainment. On the left is the master bedroom with a double and single bed, and en suite bathroom with shower and bidet. On the right are the other two bedrooms; the east bedroom with double bed and en suite shower room, and the west bedroom with bunk beds and mezzanine with further single bed.

The entrance to Le Cerisier is on the north, road side where there is parking for three vehicles, and a smaller terrace with a table and chairs.
